IT Support Engineer

If you’re an experienced tech wizard looking for a brilliant role in a company you’ll love, we want to hear from you.

West Wales Systems is the leading B2B IT and Telecoms provider in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. We’re based in Haverfordwest and have clients across West Wales and around the world.

Due to continued success, we’re expanding our team and are currently looking for a #GeekWithGoals to join us as an IT Support Engineer. This is an exciting and varied role where you’ll mainly be:

  • Helping clients use Microsoft products like Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365, both in-person and over the phone
  • Working as part of a team to install and configure new systems (such as phones, WiFi and CCTV)
  • Producing clear, easy-to-read documentation for client systems so everyone knows what’s what
  • Installing data cabling and sockets, working at height when required

Our colleagues mean the world to us. We want all team members to be happy, energised and invigorated in their work. Put simply, we believe that life’s too short to spend time doing something you don’t love! That’s why we try to make West Wales Systems the most rewarding, flexible and exciting place to work in IT.

Our working environment is smart, tidy and clean. Bring your ‘A game’ and we’ll give you everything you need to be a winner.

Although part of your role will involve helping customers remotely over the phone, this is by no means a standard desk job. You’ll be configuring systems to take our clients’ businesses to the next level, or climbing ladders and installing said solutions with our other engineers.

Our job description outlines some of the main tasks you’ll be expected to perform but for more information, or to arrange an informal chat, please do get in touch.

About you
We’re looking for a positive, friendly person with a great attitude and a burning desire to know more. You must have a full UK driving license for this role. You need to have the right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, we’ll look to conduct a DBS check before you are confirmed in post.

Some things you’ll want to know:

  • Your starting salary is open to negotiation depending on your skills and experience with yearly pay reviews.
  • Most of us normally choose to work 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, but we’re pretty flexible between 7am and 7pm.
  • We don’t usually work weekends or bank holidays, but this might be needed from time-to-time with advance notice.
  • You will have to help cover our on-call engineer rota to handle out-of-hours emergencies for our overseas clients (1 week in 4).
  • You’ll be entitled to 20 days leave per year plus bank holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Your positive and friendly attitude will put you head and shoulders above the rest of the applicants for this post.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter to [email protected] and a member of the team will be in touch.

If you’d like to arrange an informal chat first, or if you have any questions you’d like answered, that’s fine too.
